About Us

Alabama MENTOR is a leading home- and community-based services provider serving youth with complex needs and their families.

By adhering to our goal of Bringing Caring Closer, we provide in-home and other residential services where youth can maintain and enhance connections with family, friends and the community.

Home- and Community-based Services

Our Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) program serves children and adolescents with emotional and behavioral challenges throughout the state.  In this program, youth live with therapeutic foster parents—called Mentors—who provide nurturing support and therapeutic services to address challenges that often result from abuse, neglect, loss or other traumatic experiences.

The TFC program is based on our clinical model called Family Vistas, which is rooted in the belief that every family is walking their own path in life, with different challenges and needs and a unique vision.  We support families in choosing a positive new life direction that can help children heal and grow and support family along their life journeys.  Learn more now.

Alabama MENTOR also offers Intensive In-Home Services throughout the Birmingham and Madison areas.  Our Intensive In-Home Services program is designed to stabilize youth and families facing crisis situations and help children return home or and prevent future out-of-home placements.

Our continuum of care program, offered through our office in Mobile, is designed to help youth and families continue to lead healthy, stable lives.  Depending on the needs of each family, we can provide a range of supports including assistance with parenting skills and other tools to help children remain with or return to their families.

We also provide programs for transitional living, as well as programs for mothers and infants.  Contact your local office for more information.
